Tangalle comprises coves and beaches and remains mostly secluded and undiscovered. Its golden sandy beaches and coconut-fronded coastlines are great for surfing and watching turtles. The area is also home to rich cultural sites including the Rock Temples of Mulkirigala and shrines of Wewurukannala
